What employers need to know about hiring people with autism spectrum disorders

Autism Spectrum Disorder is NOT a joke. Autistic people are NOT weird, strange, rude, etc. We are humans who physiologically process information in a different way, and we deserve respect.

Not all autistic people are like "Rain Man." Some of us are "High Functioning Autistics," you would not know except for awkward social interaction, introversion, or if we tell you. We are engineers, scientists, researchers, and much more.

Start treating us with dignity and respect. We make the best employees, according to many government studies. Our characteristics / skills include:  brutally honest, loyal, dedicated, perfectionists, creative, problem solvers, attention to detail, strong research skills, focus, specialized skills in specific areas, methodical, logical, rational, analytical, critical, long term / eidetic memory, and excellent record keeping (according to studies).

Anyone should be honored to have an HFA interested in working for a company.

HR often discriminate against the autistic and for them due to ignorance.
